JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the House of Representatives Charles Honoris asked the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to immediately revoke the operational permit of the nutritional fulfillment service unit (SPPG) which proved negligent and endangered the safety of children in the free nutritious eating program (MBG).

Charles emphasized that BGN should not only focus on achieving the quantity of beneficiaries, especially after receiving a large budget from the government.

"The most important thing is the quality of the MBG program itself," Charles said in Jakarta, Sunday, July 27, quoted from Antara.

He also reminded that in the previous meeting between Commission IX of the DPR, BGN, and BPOM, it was agreed that BPOM should be actively involved in monitoring the distribution of MBG throughout Indonesia.

"It must be remembered, the decision of the DPR Commission meeting is an official binding document," he said.

Charles added that BGN and the entire SPPG network in various regions have a responsibility to ensure the safety and health of children as the next generation of the nation.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto targeted the number of recipients of the MBG program to reach 20 million people before the commemoration of the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2025. President Prabowo said that until now the MBG program had reached 6.7 million beneficiaries.

"The target is that by the end of August it can reach 20 million. I have asked for acceleration, we have to think about how to make it faster," said President Prabowo.
