Because Of Undestinated Night Hanging Out, 24 Teenagers In Serang Were Sprayed By The Police

The Raimas Precise Team of the Samapta Directorate of the Banten Police has secured teenagers roaming KP3B as a preventive measure against potential street crimes and disturbances in public order in Serang City, Saturday (26/7/2025).

SERANG - The Raimas Precise Team of the Directorate of Samapta of the Banten Police arrested 24 teenage boys in a night patrol in the Central Government Area of Banten Province (KP3B), Curug District, Serang City, as a preventive measure against potential street crimes and disturbances in public order.

Dirsamapta Polda Banten Kombes Pol Kukuh Priyo Taruno said the teenagers were arrested when gathering without a clear purpose in public areas at night.

Most use motorbikes without license plates, conditions that are often associated with illegal racing activities and other criminal potentials.

"We managed to secure 24 teenage boys who gathered without a clear destination in the KP3B area on Saturday night. Most of them use motorbikes without police license plates," Kukuh said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 28.

These arrests are part of anticipatory measures against street crimes such as theft with weight (curat), theft with violence (curas), theft of motorized vehicles (curanmor), as well as acts of thuggery and brawls that often increase at night.

As a form of coaching, officers provide direct education on the spot. In addition to the strong appeal, teenagers are also subject to light physical exercise to instill discipline and provide a deterrent effect.

"We strongly urge teenagers and the public not to roam around without a purpose at night, especially for minors. This is part of education as well as early prevention," said Kombes Kukuh.

This routine night patrol activity is referred to as a strategic step by the Banten Police in reducing the number of street crimes. Although Banten's crime rate has decreased, the potential for vulnerability remains a concern, especially targeting youth groups.
