JAKARTA - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran and three European countries -- Britain, France, and Germany -- exchanged proposals on nuclear issues and agreed to resume consultations.

Iran and the three European countries completed initial talks on the nuclear issue on Friday, July 25.

"(We) have held serious, honest, and detailed discussions with E3. The latest developments on the issue of lifting sanctions and nuclear issues have been discussed and reviewed," Gharibabadi said in X as quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik.

"While strongly criticizing their stance regarding the recent war of aggression against our people, we explain our principled position, including the so-called feedback mechanism," he said.

"The two parties came to the meeting with specific ideas, various aspects of which have been studied. It was agreed that consultations on this matter would be continued," said Gharibabadi.

The E3 group consisting of Britain, France, and Germany previously met Iranian officials in Istanbul on May 16 to hold talks at the deputy foreign minister's level.

The parties have agreed to maintain dialogue in line with ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the US.

US-Iran negotiations and a broader negotiation process with the European side stalled after Israel launched an attack on Iran on June 13.
