Jurist Tan's Last Immigration Crossing Listed Towards Singapore

The Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia stated that the suspect in the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Jurist Tan, left for Singapore based on his latest immigration crossing data.

"The person concerned flew out of Indonesia to Singapore by Singapore Airlines aircraft," said Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 23.

Jurist Tan passed the immigration check on May 13, 2025 at 15.05 WIB through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten. The former special staff of the Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, has not yet been re-entered into Indonesia.

"From the crossing data as of July 17, 2025 at 17.30, the person concerned is not in Indonesia," said Yuldi.

Currently, continued Yuldi, Jurist Tan has the status of being banned. A local request was filed by the Attorney General's Office (AGO) on June 4, 2025.

It is known that the AGO has named four suspects in the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Education and Culture in the education digitization program for the 2019-2022 period.

The four suspects are JT (Jurist Tan) as the Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Minister of Education and Culture in 2020 2024 and IBAM (Ibrahim Arief) as a former technology consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture.

In addition, SW (Sri Wahyuningsih) as Director of School Directors of Elementary Schools (SD) of the Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 2020 2021 as well as the power of budget users within the Directorate of Elementary Schools in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Finally, MUL (Mulyatsyah) as Director of Junior High School (SMP) of the Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 2021 as well as the power of budget users within the Directorate of Junior High School for the first fiscal year 20202021.

The suspects are suspected of committing acts against the law, namely abusing their authority by making implementation instructions in the digitalization program of the Ministry of Education and Culture which leads to certain products, namely Chrome OS.

As a result of the actions of the suspects, the state is estimated to have suffered a loss of around Rp. 1.9 trillion.

Suspects SW and MUL have been detained at the Salemba Branch of the Attorney General's Office for 20 days, starting Tuesday (15/7), suspect Ibrahim Arief will be under city arrest for having chronic heart disease, while Jurist Tan's whereabouts are still being hunted by investigators.
