Prabowo: Minister Of Finance Stress Every Time I Call

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto told about Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani often stressed every time she was called up because many programs were initiated to require special funds for people's help.

"The finance minister whenever I call it a bit stressed, especially since this is the president's idea, if later there is a special fund for the poor, the medicine must be free. If there is money, if there is money," Prabowo joked when inaugurating the Red and White Village Cooperative program in Bentangan Village, Klaten Regency, Central Java, Monday, July 21, quoted from ANTARA.

In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized that 80,000 Red and White Village and Village Cooperatives (Kopdes/Kopkel) in each village will have a warehouse and cooler to store agricultural or fishery products for residents.

In addition, there are also outlets to sell affordable basic necessities, Himbara banks that facilitate savings and loan loans, to pharmacies selling generic drugs.

For residents who are unable to pay for medicine, Prabowo asked Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani to prepare special funds.

"For those who really can't afford it, we try not to pay. We try. Those who seek the minister of finance are getting more stressed. But it's okay, ma'am, this is noble. The name of the mother is Sri Mulyani, so it must be noble, ma'am. Mother will be loved by all villages throughout Indonesia," said Prabowo, who was greeted by applause from the audience.

The launch of the Red and White Kopdes/Kopkel is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of the Establishment of the Red and White Village/Sub-District Cooperative which is effective from 27 March 2025.

The launch was followed simultaneously by all regions in Indonesia via online connection, covering 38 provinces and 514 regencies and cities. To date, 81,140 units of the Red and White Kopdes/Kopkel have been formed throughout Indonesia, with 80,081 of them having legal entities.

This program is aimed at building an economy from the village and sub-district levels to create equity and free the community from poverty. A total of 13 ministries and two state institutions were involved in the implementation of the program, along with governors, mayors, regents, and village heads.
