Basoetta Train Is Crossed By People On The Tanah Abang Route, A Number Of Travels Are Disturbed

JAKARTA The Commuter Line train at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Basoetta) with a travel number 837 A had an accident on the route between Karet Station and Tanah Abang Station, Monday morning, July 21 at 09.50 WIB. The train was grazed or hit by a resident in the rail area.

As a result of the incident, the train was unable to continue its journey. The train's windshield was reportedly broken and the series experienced operational disruptions.

"Due to this disturbance, Commuter Line Basoetta users number 837 A have been diverted to Commuter Line Basoetta's journey number 841 A," said KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan, in a statement, Monday afternoon.

At 10.35 WIB, the replacement train number 841 A departed from the left lane of Manggarai Station to evacuate passengers from the affected 837 A train.

This incident also disrupted the journey of a number of trains on the downstream route, including Commuter Line number 5527 B, 5071 B, 5072 B, and 5073 B. On the upstream route, the disruption had an impact on Commuter Line number 5068 B and 5072 B.

Leza apologized to users for the inconvenience caused by the operational disruption. He also appealed to the public to prioritize safety and follow the directions of officers while in the station area and on the train.

Furthermore, he reminded that according to Law Number 23 of 2007 concerning Railways, people are prohibited from doing activities in rail areas if they have no direct interest in rail transportation.

"In addition to being dangerous, violations of this rule can be subject to imprisonment for 3 months or a fine of up to Rp. 15 million," said Leza.

Authorities have yet to release the identity of theied victim, and the investigation is still ongoing.
