Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi invites food business actors to take advantage of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) program as an opportunity for collaboration to meet people's food needs.

This was conveyed by him while attending an activity in Surakarta, ahead of the national launch of the Red and White Kopdes institution, Sunday, July 20. Arief said that those interested in joining would be given financial support of Rp. 3 billion per cooperative in the form of loans.

This fund is expected to be able to be used to build strategic business units, including basic food outlets that can serve the needs of 2,000 to 3,000 families (KK) in each village or sub-district.

"Each Kopdes is given a budget platform of IDR 3 billion in the form of loans, not grants. This is an opportunity for VAT friends to contribute. Each Kopdes can serve around 2,000 or 3,000 families so this has excellent potential," said Arief in his statement.

Furthermore, he said that the Red and White Kopdes program would go hand in hand with the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) initiative, one of President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs to improve the nutritional quality of the community.

"The government has prepared its downstream, apart from the Kopdes there is also a Free Nutrition Food program. So please prepare to support President Prabowo's good program," added Arief.

Currently, as many as 103 pilot Kopdes (mock-up) have been formed and are ready to be officially launched by President Prabowo tomorrow, July 21, 2025. The pilot Kopdes is expected to be a model of application that can be replicated in various parts of Indonesia.

Not only encouraging collaboration, Arief also appealed to business actors to increase production efficiency and quality so that they can compete in the midst of an increasingly competitive market.

According to him, technological advances have become a standard in large companies, and small businesses need to adapt to remain relevant.

He gave an example of the rice milling sector that faces similar challenges, where small-scale business actors still lose competitiveness due to limited technology and production capacity.

Therefore, he emphasized the importance of strengthening capital and cooperation through cooperatives and associations. "The capital can be built through cooperatives and associations. Don't work alone. It must be collaborative and continue to innovate," said Arief.
