People's School Becomes Prabowo's Strategy To Break The Structural Poverty Chain

BEKASI - The government continues to encourage education as a long-term solution in overcoming poverty. This was emphasized by Deputy Minister of State Secretary (Wamensetneg) Juri Ardiantoro when reviewing teaching and learning activities at the Bekasi Pangudi Luhur Integrated School (STPL), one part of the People's School program, Monday, July 14.

During the visit, the Jury said that the People's School was part of President Prabowo Subianto's strategy to break the chain of extreme poverty through the development of superior human resources (HR).

"The President always says, one way to break the chain of poverty in Indonesia is to improve his human resources through good education. So even though his name is the People's School, this is a school with adequate education standards," he said in front of teachers and parents.

On that occasion, the jury also conveyed a convincing message to parents. He emphasized that their children who attend People's Schools will receive quality education, not only in the academic aspect, but also in terms of mentality, discipline, and character.

"To parents who have entrusted their children to People's Schools, both elementary, junior high, and high school, don't worry. Here everything will be taken care of properly, the education, the learning, as well as mental development," he said.

The People's School of Harmony Curriculum has a boarding and free concept aimed at children from extreme poor and poor families, especially those who fall into the Desil 1 and 2 categories based on Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

At the Bekasi STPL, students not only take formal lessons during the day, but also receive character strengthening at night. Various materials, such as leadership, religious values, discipline, and life skills become an integral part of the curriculum.

The school's first day of activity was officially opened directly by the Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro as a form of direct support from the central government for the program.

The People's School is a strategic initiative of President Prabowo Subianto which was rolled out from the beginning of his government. This program aims to open access to inclusive and quality education for Indonesian children who have been marginalized by economic limitations.

By targeting the poor and extreme poor, the government hopes that the graduates of the People's School can become an independent, productive generation and be able to get out of the circle of structural poverty.
