Trenggalek Regent Mochamad Nur Arifin officially launched 157 Village and Red and White Village Cooperatives in his area to coincide with the commemoration of the 78th National Cooperative Day centered on the Manggala Praja Nugeraha Hall page, Saturday.

During the launch, the Regent, who is familiarly called Mas Ipin, expressed his hope that the existence of the Red and White cooperative could become an instrument of economic equity at the village and sub-district levels, according to the direction of the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto during a retreat in Magelang some time ago.

"Alhamdulillah, on this Cooperative Day we launched 157 Village and Red and White Village Cooperatives. All of them are legal entities and ready to operate," said Mas Ipin.

He added that the Red and White cooperative is expected to be able to synergize with cooperatives that already exist and other financial institutions.

This collaboration is important so that the existence of cooperatives does not negate each other, but rather supports each other in realizing the welfare of members and the village community.

"Don't let the existence of the Red and White Cooperative be misinterpreted to kill other cooperatives. Instead, we encourage everyone to work together, share profits, and grow together," he said.

Mas Ipin also highlighted the savings and loan business unit which tends to develop faster, but has its own challenges.

According to him, many cooperatives experience inequality between the amount of loans disbursed and the available savings funds.

"In practice, borrowing units are more dominant than savings. If there are few, of course cooperatives will find it difficult to run the circulation of funds," he explained.

Therefore, he encourages cooperative partnerships with financial institutions such as BPR Jwalita.

The pattern of cooperation is considered mutually beneficial. BPR does not need to add personnel for collection, while cooperatives can get profit sharing from the loans disbursed.

"With a synergy model like this, cooperatives can grow healthy without eroded other cooperative spaces. Everything can develop together," he added.

Mas Ipin emphasized his commitment to continue developing cooperatives in Trenggalek.

Because, according to him, cooperatives not only provide benefits to a handful of people, but become joint economic vehicles whose benefits are enjoyed by all members.
