Jayawijaya Cultural Leaders Ready To Show 1,000 Nokens In The 32nd FBLB

WAMENA - Jayawijaya Regency Cultural Figure Maria K Logo said it was ready to present 1,000 nokens at the 32nd Baliem Valley Cultural Festival or 32nd FBLB.

"We will present 1,000 Jayawijaya native nokens made using original materials in the 2025 FBLB," he said in Wamena, Saturday.

According to him, the 1,000 original nokens of Jayawijaya Regency consist of eight types that have different functions.

"Eight nokens are Su Segerakhi, Su Ewe, Su Aga, Su Hele Kagalek, Su Hanom, Su Himpiri, Su Inampawie, and Inukumuak Su which have different meanings," he said.

He explained, in the 31st FBLB in 2024 his party displayed the longest noken with a size of 30 meters and received an award from MURI.

This year the concept is also noken, but we make it in large quantities and various sizes. And every noken we will explain to visitors what its functions are," he said.

He hopes that there will be support from the local government so that the concept of making 1,000 nokens can be realized to enliven the 32nd FBLB.

"We hope for support from the local government, and this month is enough to prepare the 1,000 planned nokens. We have a group of Suara Hati Ibu totaling 42 people consisting of widows," he said.
