CIANJUR - The District Attorney (Kejari) of Cianjur, West Java, confiscated Rp1 billion from PT KPA related to the alleged corruption of the Public Road Information (PJU) project amounting to Rp40 billion, after examining 30 witnesses.

Head of Cianjur District Attorney's Office, Kamin, said that until now his party was still investigating the alleged corruption case that occurred at the Cianjur Transportation Service, while calculating state losses before determining the name of the suspect who was suspected of being more than one person.

"Kejari Cianjur secured evidence of Rp1 billion worth of money allegedly related to the case, where the investigative team searched and found a number of important evidences," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 8.

He explained that the Rp1 billion money came from PT KPA which was deposited through a person with the initials Y, related to the PJU project from the West Java Provincial Government grant funds in 2023, where the Cianjur Transportation Agency carried out it in the north and south.

After receiving information from 30 witnesses, his party scheduled a physical check to the project site with a team of experts to take into account potential state losses in order to complete the investigation and determine the name of the suspect.

"After examining the field and examining witnesses and calculating state losses, it will be continued with the determination of the suspect," he said.

Even since Tuesday morning, he added, his party has been asking for information from the former Head of the Cianjur Transportation Agency Dadan Ginanjar to complete the examination file related to the alleged corruption case worth Rp40 billion which has entered the investigation process.

"The former head of the Cianjur Transportation Agency is still undergoing examination, in order to complete the file," he said.

He emphasized that the suspect's direction was already there, but his party wanted to conduct a thorough examination of witnesses, and the possibility that witnesses could be made suspects, so that in the near future the investigation could be completed.

"In fact, his party did not rule out the possibility of names of officials within the Cianjur Regency Government and third parties being named as suspects. It is possible that there are providers and budget users," he concluded.
