The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Ensures That The Investigation Of Alleged Corruption In The Implementation Of Hajj Continues

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the investigation into the alleged corruption in determining quotas and organizing Hajj at the Ministry of Religion for the period 2023-2025 at the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) is still ongoing. A number of parties have the opportunity to be questioned.

"KPK is currently conducting a series of investigations on other examined parties and is still being studied, investigated from these examinations," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo, quoted on Tuesday, July 8.

Budi also said that the possibility of former Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas being questioned in this investigation was open. However, he did not specify the exact time.

"Of course later if it is needed to summon and ask the person concerned, of course the KPK will schedule it," he said.

Previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate allegations of corruption in determining quotas and organizing Hajj at the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) in 2023-2025. Information collection was carried out, one of which was by summoning Khalid Basalamah, who is the preacher and owner of the Uhud Tour.

"Yes, that's right (there is an investigation into the alleged corruption in determining the quota and implementation of Hajj at the Ministry of Religion, ed)," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu when confirmed by reporters, Thursday, June 19.

Asep did not want to talk further about the investigation which was carried out behind closed doors. However, a number of related parties began to be summoned by investigators.

The alleged corruption has been reported several times. The name of former Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas was also dragged into it.
