Central Java Social Service: Public School Accommodates 1,075 Students

SEMARANG - Central Java Social Service said that the People's Schools built in the area are estimated to accommodate a total of 1,075 students for junior high and high school levels.

Head of the Central Java Social Service, Imam Maskur, in Semarang, Saturday, said there were at least 11 People's Schools spread across various districts/cities in Central Java.

For the study group (rombel), he said, the junior high school level was nine rombels, while the SMA was 29 rombels.

There are five centers of People's Schools, namely the Integrated Center Kartini Temanggung, which originally planned to accommodate 125 high school students with five rombels, the Antasena Magelang Center using a building owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs, which plans to accommodate 100 high school students with four rombels.

Then the Satria Baturaden Center, Banyumas, plans to receive 50 junior high school students in two rombels, the Margo Laras Pati Center as many as 100 junior high school students in four rombels, and the Integrated Center Prof. Dr. R Soeharso accommodates 200 high school students in eight rombels.

"People's schools are also scattered in Magelang Regency, Blora Regency, Banjarnegara Regency, Wonosobo Regency, Kendal Regency, and Wonogiri Regency," he said.

He admitted that not all regions are ready to open the People's School because it is still in the process of preparation, especially infrastructure.

In addition, he said, not all People's Schools in Central Java can accommodate all levels from elementary, junior high, to high school.

According to him, rombel and education levels are adjusted to the number of graduates in the area.

"So, in accordance with the interest and the poor children in the area, most of them graduated from junior high school or graduated from elementary school. In Temanggung, they graduated from junior high school (many), so they entered SMK, Magelang SMA, Banyumas SMP, then Pati was junior high school," he said.

"For teacher recruitment, it is under the authority of the central government, while the number of teachers stationed in People's Schools varies, depending on rombel," he said.

He explained that his party used the National Sole Social Economic Data (DTSEN) to determine prospective students, then they were verified directly to the field by social assistance.

"Verification and validation must be, the condition of the house, because it must be photographed by the house, the economic condition must be photographed everything, the data must be complete. It doesn't just happen that those who pass it once the list continues to pass, right," he said.
