CILEGON - Bagendung Final Waste Disposal Site (TPSA) in Cilegon City, Banten, absorbs waste to be used as a fuel for green energy supplied to the Suralaya Steam Power Plant (PLTU).
Head of TPSA Bagus Ardanto, in Cilegon, Saturday, said that the processing of waste into solid picking fuel (BBJP) was used as a mixture of fuel (co-firing) at the PLTU as an effort to support the government in achieving Net Zero Emission 2060.
"The target in 2030 must reach 25 percent for the use of New Renewable Energy (EBT) such as BBJP and we hope that later it can leave fossil fuels," he said.

He said the BBJP processing, which has been carried out since 2021, can produce as much as 10 tons of BBJP per day from 30 tons of waste collected per day.
The waste collected comes from a number of markets, such as the Kranggot market, which will be sorted before the production process is carried out and then sent to PLTU Suralaya if the volume of BBJP has reached 50 tons.
"From the use of BBJP, it can reduce as much as five percent of the use of burning coal in PLTU," he said.
His party said that the processing of BBJP could not only reduce dependence on fossil fuels, but could reduce waste accumulation, especially in big cities.
"We are targeting not only the production of BBJP, but also reducing the volume of waste in TPSA," said Bagus Ardanto.
