President Prabowo To Discuss Bilateral Relations, Hajj To Regional Situations With The Prince Of Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is planned to discuss bilateral relations, Hajj to regional situations during state visits to Saudi Arabia.

"The status of the visit is July 2", said a spokesman for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rolliansyah Soemirat, in a short message to VOI, Tuesday, July 1.

The series of visits by President Prabowo to Saudi Arabia will take place on July 1-3, according to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his statement.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia is scheduled to hold a meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (MBS) in Jeddah on July 2, 2025.

This visit will be the first visit to Saudi Arabia since President Prabowo was officially sworn in last October.

This state visit was carried out in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, especially in strategic sectors such as economic and investment cooperation, energy resilience and cooperation in improving services for Indonesian pilgrims and Umrah.

The meeting will also be used to discuss the latest regional and global issues, especially developments in the Middle East region.

In addition, the bilateral meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was also in the context of the inaugural meeting of the Highest Coordination Council (DKT) of Indonesia Saudi Arabia.

The DKT, whose formation was agreed upon by the two countries in Riyadh on October 19, 2023, is a high-level bilateral mechanism led directly by the two Heads of Government to harmonize various strategic interests and strengthen coordination between the two countries.

The meeting is planned to produce several deliverables in the form of MoU, both between governments and between business people.

Previously, the meeting of the two figures was held on June 12, 2024. At that time, Prabowo was still the Minister of Defense and the president was elected.

Last January, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono held a meeting with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of The World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2025 in Davos, Switzerland.

In addition to discussing bilateral and regional relations, the two also discussed President Prabowo Subianto's visit to Riyadh, as well as Foreign Minister Faisal's planned visit to Indonesia, including deliverable discussions from the visit.
