Officers Reduce Contraflow Distance On The Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road

KARAWANG - Police officers and Jasa Marga have reduced their contraflow distance on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road as traffic congestion on the road melts during the long Islamic New Year holiday which coincided with the start of the school holiday, Friday afternoon.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll Ria Marlinda Paalo in a statement in Karawang Regency, West Java, Friday, said that contraflow or traffic engineering by changing the normal direction of vehicle flow was applied by officers to the discretion of the police to make traffic smooth on toll roads.

He said that on Friday afternoon at around 13.54 WIB, contraflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road was implemented from KM 55 to KM 65 towards Cikampek.

Whereas previously, from around 9.00 WIB, officers applied contraflow within a fairly long distance from KM 47 to KM 65 on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road. Then on Friday afternoon, the contraflow distance was reduced to from KM 47 to KM 65.

"So, the contraflow from KM 47 to KM 65 towards Cikampek, the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section at 13.47 WIB is closed. Then a contraflow is applied from KM 56 to KM 65," he said.

Ria conveyed that during this long holiday, her party appealed to Trans Java toll road users to always prioritize safety.

"The traffic volume on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road has been observed to increase. That's what we urge toll road users to prepare optimally before traveling," he said.

He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that the condition of the driver and vehicle is in prime condition, checking the adequacy of power and fuel, and ensuring that the electronic money balance is sufficient for travel.

"Obey traffic signs and follow the directions of officers in the field for the convenience and safety of all," he said.
