Ministry Of Foreign Affairs: A Total Of 60 Indonesian Citizens From Iran Have Returned To Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that as many as 60 Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were evacuated from Iran had returned to their homeland.

The return of dozens of Indonesian citizens, through the Turkish Airlines (TK 56) flight process with 11 people was carried out on Tuesday (24/6), and 49 people were flown through Doha, Qatar-Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) Tangerang, Banten.

Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and BHI of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) Judha Nugraha said, of the 49 Indonesian citizens who were currently repatriated or the second wave of evacuation stages from 97 people from Iran due to the conflict between Iran and Israel.

"After the arrival of 11 Indonesian citizens in Jakarta who were evacuated from Iran on June 24, 2025, today 48 Indonesian citizens and 1 foreigner will arrive again," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 25.

They have gone through the evacuation process from Iran by land to Baku, Azerbaijan. Then, first fly and transit in Istanbul and Doha before continuing their journey to Jakarta.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also evacuated five other Indonesian citizens from two different areas, namely Oman and Jordan, who are currently facing an unstable security situation.

"In addition to 49 evacuae, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in Muscat also evacuated 3 Indonesian citizens from North Yemen, an area controlled by the Houthis. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy Amman also facilitated the evacuation of 2 Indonesian citizens living in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The five evacuations will also arrive today," he said.
