JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives Nurhadi highlighted the deactivation of 7.3 million participants of the National Health Insurance Program (JKN) segment of the Health Insurance Contribution Recipient (PBI JK).

He warned the government not to be careless in making decisions and policies that have a direct impact on the basic rights of each citizen.

"The state should not rashly make decisions that have an impact on people's rights," said Nurhadi, Tuesday, June 24.

The deactivation of 7.3 million PBI JK participants was initiated by the Ministry of Social Affairs because it was not recorded in the National Socio-Economic Integrated Data (DTSEN), and participants were considered prosperous.

Nurhadi then questioned the validation of the data used by the Government until he decided to revoke the PBI JK assistance. He reminded that the government must really verify the data of PBI JK participants who deserve to be disabled and must be based on existing reality.

"If it is true that they were deactivated because they were not registered in DTSEN and considered prosperous, then the question is, is the validation and verification of the data really accurate and in favor of reality on the ground?" said Nurhadi.

"Don't let it just be due to technical errors or imperfect data updating, millions of vulnerable people suddenly lose access to health services," he continued.

This member of the House of Representatives Health Commission also encouraged the government through the relevant ministries to open a complaint post for people who still need the membership status of PBI JK. Nurhadi asked BPJS to collaborate with the Ministry of Social Affairs as the party that takes care of DTSEN matters.

"We encourage the Ministry of Social Affairs and BPJS Kesehatan to immediately open a complaint channel that is responsive, transparent, and easily accessible, so that people who object or are affected can immediately file an objection and get a solution," he said.

Nurhadi also asked the central and regional governments to sit down together and ensure that no underprivileged residents were removed from the data on recipients of health social assistance.

"Don't let any residents be unable to be thrown away from the social protection system just because of their absence from the database," Nurhadi appealed.

Nurhadi assessed that the government should strengthen health insurance for lower-class citizens in the midst of a difficult economy, not actually reduce the number of recipients of aid.

"In an economic situation that is still not fully recovered, health insurance should be strengthened, not reduced," said the member of the DPR's NasDem Faction.

His party will immediately summon BPJS Kesehatan as a partner of Commission IX of the DPR to explain this issue.

"Commission IX will ask for an official explanation from the Ministry of Social Affairs and BPJS Kesehatan in the near future regarding this matter," concluded Nurhadi.

As is known, as many as 7.3 million BPJS Health participants from the recipient segment of the health insurance contribution assistance or PBI JK were officially disabled as of May 2025. However, BPJS Kesehatan stated that the membership status could still be reactivated as long as it met a number of predetermined regulations.

Some of these provisions include being registered as PBI JK participants who were disabled in May 2025, including in the category of the poor and vulnerable to poverty, as well as participants suffering from chronic diseases or in medical emergencies that threaten the safety of their souls.

BPJS Kesehatan explained that the disabled PBI JK participants could report to the local Social Service by bringing a 'Cert of Information Needs Health Services'. Furthermore, the Social Service will propose the participants to the Ministry of Social Affairs and will be verified for the proposed participants.
