JAKARTA - The regional development bank (BPD) of Bank DKI has officially changed its name or rebranding to Bank Jakarta. The change in this new trademark was inaugurated by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, to coincide with the 498th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta.
President Director of PT Bank DKI Agus H. Widodo explained the name change when Jakarta's anniversary was aimed at conveying a strong message, that the transformation of Bank DKI is part of the large transformation of Jakarta towards an inclusive, modern, and highly competitive global city.
"We chose June 22, 2025, so that the spirit of change in Bank DKI would be directly correlated with the spirit of change in Jakarta itself," Agus said in his statement, Sunday, June 22.
Agus explained that this rebranding is not just a visual change, but reflects the ongoing comprehensive transformation within Bank DKI, which includes strengthening governance, risk management, and professional work culture.
Then, accelerate digital transformation and integrate ecosystem-based services. Then, modernize IT infrastructure and increase cyber security. Furthermore, the participation of intermediation functions, credit productivity, as well as the acquisition of low-cost funds in a sustainable manner.
"We want the people of Jakarta to feel that this change is not cosmetic, but reflects an in-depth commitment to becoming a strong bank financially, healthy in governance, and a real presence in people's lives," said Agus.
Meanwhile, the use of the new name "Jakarta" from the bank owned by the DKI Provincial Government was chosen because it is a simple and universal name, easy to understand and position Jakarta equivalent to world financial cities.
In addition to call names, Bank Jakarta also has a new logo that still displays the essence of the National Monument (Monas), but with a more modern visual approach, namely three diagonal lines without a dividing circle.
As for the color selection, Bank Jakarta has changed from red to orange, based on closer considerations with Jakarta's identity and Betawi culture.
The orange red color is expected to reflect Jakarta's creative energy and optimism, with black expected to provide the foundation of institutional trust.
This rebranding is also part of a strategic step in preparing the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2024 concerning the Province of the Special Region of Jakarta, as well as a long-term roadmap towards an initial public offering (IPO).
