JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung claims that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is transparent and open in collecting taxes in Jakarta during his leadership.

Pramono also warned all taxpayers to comply with their respective tax payments, including parties who deliberately tax arrears because they have a ranking in the government.

"In the past, it was dim, those who didn't want to pay taxes in the past, those who used to be still hiding in power armpits, are now transparent, must pay taxes," Pramono said at the night of the taxpayer's appreciation at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, June 17.

From the attitude of the DKI Provincial Government, Pramono showed off tax collection in Jakarta as of June 17, 2025, claiming 46.7 percent. This figure is higher than the central government's tax levy which still touched 32 percent.

This, said Pramono, was also a question from the Director-General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance, Bimo Wijayanto, who was also present at the event.

"Earlier I whispered with the Director General of Taxes. 'How can Jakarta collect taxes higher than the national one?'. Mr. Director General of Taxes, the point is that Jakarta collects it with heart," explained Pramono.

From the active collection of taxes that entered the regional treasury, Pramono admitted that the DKI Provincial Government could be more optimal in carrying out assistance programs to the community.

The DKI Provincial Government, continued Pramono, can now increase the quota for the distribution of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) and the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU).

"Jakartu Jakarta Pintar di periode ini, di tahun ini kita membagikan 727.622 siswa. Totalnya sekitar 1,6 triliun dan ini transparan, terbuka karena semuanya dilakukan melalui perbankan," urai Pramono.

"Indonesian Superior Student Card, I have asked the ranks of the DKI government, I ask people who can't afford to be given the opportunity to get a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and even doctoral degree," he added.
