JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the DKI Provincial Government will add five Transjabodetabek routes from Jakarta to buffer areas in West Java and Banten.

Since the beginning of his tenure as Governor of DKI until now, Pramono has inaugurated 5 Transjabodetabek routes, including Alam Sutera-Blok M, PIK2-Blok M, Bogor-Blok M, Sawangan-Lebak Bulus, and Vida Bekasi-Cawang.

This was revealed by Pramono in the Main Partnership Cooperation Forum (FKD-MPU) in Central Jakarta which was also attended by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and Banten Governor Andra Soni.

"For this Transjabodetabek, areas that intersect directly with Jakarta are West Java and Banten. So we will open approximately 10 new routes. Now there will be 5 more," said Pramono, Tuesday, June 17.

Pramono admitted that the DKI Provincial Government cannot solve congestion problems in Jakarta by facilitating mass public transportation services only in the Jakarta area. This is the basis for the DKI Provincial Government to expand Transjabodetabek services to buffer areas.

"This will really be a new color in the transportation sector because we will half force people to use public transportation, no longer people," said Pramono.

In fact, Pramono did not hesitate to provide subsidies for Transjabodetabek services for 15 groups of residents of Jakarta agglomeration cities/districts. So far, 15 groups of Jakarta residents have enjoyed free transportation services.

The 15 beneficiary groups start from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Civil Servant, retired civil servants, contract workers from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, KJP Plus recipient students, residents of the Rusunawa, PKK Mobilization Team, and employees with salaries equivalent to the UMP, residents with Thousand Islands KTP, recipients of the Jabodetabek domicile racekin, members of the TNI/Polri, veterans of the Republic of Indonesia, people with disabilities, the elderly over 60 years old, administrators of houses of worship, PAUD educators, as well as jumantik groups, management of youth organizations, dasawisma, and posyandu.

"Later on with Transjabodetabek for residents of Bekasi, Depok, Cianjur, Tangerang, South Tangerang, and so on, we will also free 15 groups," he explained.

Then, Pramono projects that regional incomes resulting from the implementation of a paid road system or electronic road pricing (ERP) will later be allocated to increase the budget for public transportation subsidies.

"We will fully use ERP to provide subsidies for residents outside Jakarta. So there is a principle of justice there," he concluded.
