KKB Actions Again In Yahukimo Papua, TNI Falls, Civilians Become Victims

JAKARTA - A member of the TNI from Kodim 1715/Yahukimo, Serka Segar Mulyana, was killed by an unknown person (OTK). Allegedly, the perpetrator is a KKB group Elkius Kobak.

Head of Damai Cartenz Police, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, said the murder was carried out by the perpetrator when the TNI member was carrying out the task of delivering medicine to his colleague on Jalan Seradala KM 4, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, on Monday, June 16.

"The victim suffered a number of stab wounds to his body and gunshot wounds to his chest, currently the victim has been evacuated to Jayapura," Faizal said in his statement, Tuesday, June 17.

Currently an investigation is still being carried out. The police team is looking for evidence and clues to uncover the figure of the perpetrator of the murder.

Not only attacking the security forces, the same group is also suspected of being involved in the killing of civilians at almost the same time. At around 10.30 WIT, the public reported a brutal attack on Samboga Village.

The two victims were civilians, namely Udin who died with a number of stab wounds. Then, Edi, who is currently in critical condition with two arrows stuck in the head and stab wounds to the cheeks and head.

Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Damai Cartenz Ops, Kombes. Pol. Yusuf Sutejo appealed to the Papuan people to remain calm and not be provoked. His party will immediately reveal and arrest the perpetrators.

"We ask the public to remain calm and fully entrust the authorities, we will take firm action against armed criminals who disrupt security stability, especially in Papua," said Yusuf.

For additional information, Sebby Sambom, who claimed to be a spokesman for the TPNPB OPM, in a statement on social media, admitted that the Yahukimo TPNPB group was behind the attack that caused the death of Serka Segar Mulyana. This strengthens the alleged direct involvement of the KKB led by Elkius Kobak in the bloody attack.

This incident adds to the list of violence perpetrated by KKB in the Papua region, especially in Yahukimo, which has recently heated up again. Joint forces are still pursuing and deepening the motive for attacks targeting both security forces and civil society.
