JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to discuss investment issues to strengthen cooperation in various aspects during a working visit to Singapore next week.

Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rolliansyah 'Roy' Soemirat said President Prabowo would make a state visit to Singapore on June 16.

He said Singapore's main agenda was Singapore's Tharman Shanmugaratnam Presidential Meeting and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

"This is the President's first visit to Singapore, as well as the leaders of the first two leaders, after the Singapore election last May," Roy said in a statement at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thursday, June 12.

He further explained that the leaders will discuss various priorities of strategic cooperation in the context of the government and the new cabinet of the two countries.

"The issues related to investment between the two countries in various fields will also be planned to be discussed, strengthening cooperation in various other aspects," explained Roy.

He added that there are several deliverables that are currently still in the final preparation process, which are expected to be agreed upon in the meeting later.

"With this leader's retreat, relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen, increase," said Roy.

"Especially with the format of the retreat, leaders will be much more open to share their thoughts, related to bilateral or regional or global issues," concluded Roy.
