3 Suspects Of Crude Oil Theft On The Pertamina Truck Line Arrested In Ogan Ilir

JAKARTA - The police have uncovered a case of crude oil theft on the Pertamina trurunk line which was carried out by three suspects in Payakabung Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency on Monday, June 9, at around 01.30 WIB.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the OI Police, AKP M Ilham in Indralaya, said that the case was revealed after his party received a report from the security forces of PT. Pertamina EP Zone 4 Prabumulih Field who suspected unusual activities on the pipeline.

The Resmob team immediately carried out an investigation, at around 01.50 WIB, the team managed to secure three SM suspects (44), a resident of Banyuasin Regency, BD (42), a resident of PALI Regency, AK Saputra (33), a resident of Palembang City.

"After checking, it was found that Pertamina's pipe had been damaged and 50.32 barrels of crude worth around Rp 51 million had been stolen," he said at OI, Tuesday, June 10, which was confiscated by Antara.

In addition to securing the suspect, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of a red Mitsubishi truck with a modified tank with a capacity of about 8 tons containing stolen crude oil, then three iron pipe blades along 10 meters each, one tube with a length of approximately 15 meters.

Several other perpetrators managed to escape into the forest during the raid, and are currently being chased by the police.

This case is handled based on Police Report Number: LP-B / 221 / VI / 2025 / South Sumatra / RES OI / SPKT dated June 9, 2025, with the alleged article, namely Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with Weights.

"This case is a form of our seriousness in taking firm action against criminals who are detrimental to the state and society. We also urge the public to report immediately if they know of suspicious activities in their area," said AKP M. Ilham.
