TANJUNG SELOR - One of two police officers from the Tana Tidung Police was named a suspect in the case of drug trafficking of methamphetamine type revealed by the Sesayap Hilir Police in early May 2025. This status was determined after an intensive investigation conducted at the Kaltara Police Headquarters.
According to information from the Sesayap Hilir Police Chief, Ipda Dedy Timang, the Supreme Court has been officially detained at the North Kalimantan Police Detention Center since June 4, 2025.
"One person with the initials MA, based on sufficient evidence, we have been suspects and have been detained since June 4, 2025 at the Kaltara Police detention center," said Ipda Dedy Timang, Sunday, June 8.
"Meanwhile, for the person with the initials RS, until now we have not had enough evidence, so the person concerned has been sent home," he added.
Dedy explained, from the results of the case conducted by the Directorate of Drugs at the Kaltara Police, MA was proven to have carried out drug transactions with three suspects who are now being detained by the Sesayap Hilir Police.
"From the examination, instructions from the electronic information of the Cyber Polda Kaltara team found the transaction of the suspect MA, including a letter from his newspaper account," said Ipda Dedy.
He emphasized that the determination of the suspect was quite strong after the investigation found two pieces of evidence, such as witness statements and other clues.
"Initially, there were problems, such as a mobile phone belonging to an MA person who was locked because he used fingerprints, but investigators managed to uncover it after tracing bank transactions," he said.
He added that currently four people have been named as suspects in the disclosure of drug cases by the Hilir Sewing Police
"Previously we arrested three people, namely SR, RD, and IS on Wednesday night, May 7, 2025. The three were arrested on Jalan Kuburan, Sepala Village, transacting drugs," he said.
To note, during the arrest, cash and methamphetamine packages were found with a net weight of about 1.13 grams. The police also confiscated cellphones and SIM cards belonging to the two police officers.
