The East Lombok Kejari Also Investigate Allegations Of Corruption In Chromebook Laptops In Schools

The East Lombok District Attorney, West Nusa Tenggara is investigating an unlawful act (PMH) in the initial investigation of the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebook laptops, which amounted to Rp32 billion.

"So, while walking in this initial investigation, we are tracing the PMH," said Head of the Special Crimes Section of the East Lombok Kejari, Ida Bagus Putu Swadharma Diputra, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 3.

The handling of the case from the procurement of information and communication technology equipment (ICT) at the East Lombok Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) for the 2022 fiscal year is included in the prosecutor's investigation starting April 30, 2025, as stated in the Investigation Order Number: PRINT-02/N.2.12/Fd.2/04/2025.

Ida Bagus said that in the initial stages of this investigation, his party had not touched on the issue of state losses, but still focused on examining witnesses to trace PMH.

The investigators' steps at this stage carried out a marathon examination of witnesses, ranging from East Lombok Education and Culture officials, goods providers, to recipients from elementary schools.

"The new (witness) was examined from the provider and the school. Not yet, but also on the agenda," he said.

In addition to witnesses, the examination also led to the object of the case, namely the Chromebook laptop, which amounted to 300 units.

"What is checked is (the Chromebook laptop) from 20 to 30 schools," he said.

The realization of this goods procurement project comes from special allocation funds. Allegations of corruption lead to the specifications of goods and procurement implementation that are not in accordance with the instructions in the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Number 3 of 2022.
