JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized that the ASEAN 2045 Vision must be a real framework, so that the organization can take on the main role both in the region and globally.

Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized that the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 must be the main and strategic guide in strengthening ASEAN as an inclusive, resilient and adaptive community.
"This vision should not just be an aspirational document, but must be a real framework so that ASEAN can play a major role, both in the region and globally," said Foreign Minister Sugiono in a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thursday, May 29.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Sugiono encouraged the strengthening of coordination across ASEAN pillars so that the implementation of the ASEAN 2045 Vision would run effectively. He also welcomed the transfer of cross-pillar coordination mandate from Joint Consultative Meeting (JCM) to the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) ASEAN based in Jakarta.
