Through X, Musk on Wednesday night local time thanked President Donald Trump, saying his DOGE team would continue to work throughout the government.
"Because my schedule as a Special Government Employee is coming to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce spending," Musk wrote.
Elon Musk said the DOGE mission "will get stronger over time as it becomes part of life throughout the government."
