567 Migrant Workers Complaints In 200 Performance Days Of The Ministry Of P2MI Completed, Minister Karding: We Take Care Of You

JAKARTA - Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding officially launched a book entitled "Ahead of Buana, seeding Janabijana".

The book is a note and reflection related to the 200 working days of the Ministry of P2MI under the Government of President Prabowo Subianto.

"This 200 working day with conditions as a new ministry, we are trying to make efforts to submit activity reports, especially to the public as a form of our responsibility to use state money as a form of our responsibility, as given the mandate to manage, manage protection for Indonesian civil servants. We know that 200 today is not a long time and also not a short time as a new ministry," said Karding at the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Ministry (KemenP2MI) office, Tuesday, May 27.

Minister Karding explained the book "Going Ahead of Buana, Mamizing Jababijana" which contains 8 chapters, namely Manyulam Harapan; Reproducing The Way Towards Dreams; A Safer Way; Keeping At The End of the World; Go Migrants Home Skippers; Economic Contribution; One Semester, Thousands of Stories.

Minister Karding emphasized that the protection of Indonesian migrant workers should not only be administrative, but based on empathy and conscience.

"This is not a matter of stamped paper, but it's a matter of conscience. We call it that this approach is a life cycle, meaning that protection must start from the start when we start recruiting, when placing abroad and when they return home. In the 200 days there are 567 complaints from migrant workers being handled in a 24-hour protection system from November to April 2025," said Karding.

Within 200 working days, Minister Karding also explained regarding the prosecution of Indonesian migrant worker placement companies (P3MI) that violated the rules. He wants the P3MI ecosystem, including the protection of migrant workers in the future, to be healthier.

"We understand that the more healthy placement companies, the better the protection for Indonesian migrant workers. What is not healthy is that we will impose sanctions in accordance with existing regulations," said Karding.

In addition, KemenP2MI has a complaint system that operates for 24 hours. The system, he continued, collaborates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Manpower Attaches and humanitarian organizations such as the Indonesian Red Cross.

"So we are present 24 hours. We have a complaint SOP, an action SOP in a context of 24 hours," said Karding.

"We also consolidate fellow Workers Attaches in several countries, including always coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all the infrastructure they have, be it the Embassy, Consulate General, or other service structures, to ensure that the protection of our migrant workers can run in an integrated, fast, and responsive manner to various dynamics that occur in the field," he added.

Therefore, Karding hopes that in the future the ecosystem built at KemenP2MI can have a direct impact on Indonesian migrant workers. Because, said Minister Karding, the steps taken by Indonesian migrant workers such as seeds must be maintained by the Ministry of P2MI.

"Because we believe that every step of migrant workers in the future is the seeds of life, the seeds planted in Korea, in Japan, Saudi Arabia but the roots remain in Indonesia. We take care of you, we take care of each other, that's the face of this ministry, not a rigid bureaucracy, but a protector who knows how to love with real work," said Karding.
