Derita Cucu Purnamasari, Victims Of Luxury Bag Fraud Ended Up Being Suspects

JAKARTA - A mother of four who works as a diamond trader Cucu Purnamasari Zulaiha has gone viral on social media because she has been named a suspect in a case of alleged fraud and embezzlement.

The case began when Cucu sold diamonds to Syilfia Regita Mustika (Gita) in August 2021 worth IDR 4 billion.

However, Gita at that time did not give him cash, but instead exchanged it for some Hermes brand bags.

"We bartered, there was never any cash (cash). He (Gita) gave the Hermes bag to me as a diamond payment, then he made a receipt and I ordered him to sign it," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 25.

The grandson confirmed and clarified with the intention of conveying the authenticity of the bag to Gita.

"This bag can't be sold. I asked for the diamond to be returned, but he didn't want to return it," he said.

After not returning the diamond, Gita even reported it to the Grandson of the South Jakarta Metro Police on September 6, 2021 on charges of fraud and embezzlement.

The grandson then underwent an examination by investigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police, which resulted in the determination of the suspect in December 2021.

"I was examined from five in the afternoon until two in the morning. Even though at that time I was pregnant. I explained everything to investigators with the chat and evidence, but everything was pushed over. Suddenly the suspect was sent a letter," he complained.

Feeling aggrieved, Cucu reported Gita back to Polda Metro Jaya on the same charge.

"I have explained to the South Jakarta Metro Police investigators and I also brought the evidence, but investigators never ignored it. Investigators pretended to be blind and pretended to be deaf like that," he said.

Cucu sendiri memiliki surat pernyataan dari Gita yang berisi permintaan maaf dan pengakuan telah mengklaim adanya uang tunai yang sebenarnya tidak ada.

Gita also promised to return the diamond or purchase money, as well as withdraw the report at the South Jakarta Metro Police.

"The evidence is clear, it is clear who is the fraudster and who is being cheated. But why is it turned back like this. What's wrong with the South Jakarta Police. Until now, Gita's report at the South Jakarta Metro Police is still ongoing. Even though inside the agreement, no later than two weeks of the report must be withdrawn. Cucu meminta atensi kepada Presiden Prabowo dan Kapolri Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo untuk memberikan sedikit perhatian terhadap kasusnya.
