North Sumatra Police Arrest Perpetrators Of Stabbing Prosecutors In Serdang Bedagai

The North Sumatra Regional Police managed to apprehend two people suspected of being involved in the violence against a prosecutor with the initials JWS (53) and an administrative employee of the Deli Serdang District Attorney's Office, ASH (25).

The stabbing incident occurred in the Kotarih District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, on Saturday afternoon. The arrests were made only within 10 hours of the incident.

"The joint team managed to secure the suspects in a short time," said the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol. Ferry Walintukan, during a press conference in Medan on Sunday, as quoted by ANTARA.

He explained that the team, led by the Head of Sub-Directorate of Jatanras, Kompol Jama Purba, arrested the perpetrators in two different locations. The first suspect, with the initials APL alias Kepot, was arrested in the Jalan Pancing area, Medan at 23.00 WIB. Meanwhile, the second suspect, SD alias SD, was arrested a few hours later in the Binjai area, on Sunday morning.

"APL is suspected of being the mastermind behind the perpetrator, while SD is the executor. Currently, we are still hunting for another perpetrator who has not been caught," explained Ferry.

According to information, the two suspects are known to have criminal records as recidivists in cases of violent theft (article 365 of the Criminal Code). Meanwhile, the motive for the stabbing is still under further investigation by the police.

Ferry emphasized that his party will continue to take firm action against criminals to ensure security and public order in the North Sumatra region.

Meanwhile, according to the Head of the Legal Information Section of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, Adre Wanda Ginting, the attack took place at around 13.15 WIB. Previously, the two victims had left for their personal land in Serdang Bedagai at 09.35 WIB to harvest palm oil.

Arriving at the location, ASH contacted a colleague named Dodi, who is an honorary staff of the Deli Serdang District Attorney's Office, to convey a message to someone named Kepot" known as Deputy Chairman of Koti from one of the community organizations in Deli Serdang Regency to come to the location.

Some time later, two unidentified men appeared riding an automatic motorbike and carrying a fishing bag which turned out to contain machetes. They immediately attacked the two victims.

After receiving initial help, the two were then referred to Columbia Asia Hospital Medan for further medical treatment.
