Transjabodetabek Bekasi-Cawang Attacked By Residents, DKI Transportation Agency Reviews Additional Buses

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that there was a request from the public for the DKI Provincial Government to increase the number of Transjabodetabek buses, especially the Vida Bekasi-Cawang route which only operated last week.

The addition of this bus was requested by Bekasi residents so that the distance from waiting for the Transjabodetabek bus (headway) could be shortened from every 10 minutes. The number of passengers on this route continues to increase.

"Yesterday's video from the 10 minute headway saw an increase in the number of customers and the public asked for an additional headway. This means that public interest in using public transportation is very high," Syafrin told reporters, Thursday, May 22.

Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government will review the proposal to increase the number of buses in order to shorten the headway for the Transjabodetabek Vida Bekasi-Cawang route.

In addition, the DKI Transportation Agency also continues to evaluate in terms of quality and quantity, as well as facilitate other needs that passengers expect.

"We are currently reviewing it for addition. For Vida Bekasi, the peak hour is 10 minutes. So ask for it to be added, yes, on average 5 minutes and now we are reviewing it, then adjust it to the number of buses that will operate," said Syafrin.

For information, the Transjabodetabek route for the Vida Bekasi-Cawang was just inaugurated last May 15. This transportation service with a length of about 42 kilometers only operates 12 buses belonging to Transjakarta.

This Transjabodetabek with bus code B41 operates with a travel time of about 160 minutes (going home) during peak hours, and 120 minutes at non-hoil hours. The track length reaches 42.6 km by passing through five stop points (1 point in the DKI Jakarta area and 4 points outside the DKI Jakarta area).
