Thousands Of Bali Pecalang Declaration Reject Preman Presence Under The Guise Of Mass Organizations

DENPASAR - Around 13,000 more pecalang members in Bali have made a declaration against the presence of thugs wearing social organizations or mass organizations on the Island of the Gods.

Chairman of the Bali Traditional Village Council Ida Penglingsir Agung Putra Sukahet in Denpasar, Saturday, said the pecalang declaration began with the presence of mass organizations from residents outside Bali which were rejected by all associations of traditional village pecalang.

"Recently, there have been refusals from thugs under the guise of mass organizations, they (pecalang) are sporadic, individuals are videoing rejections, so at the initiative of Pasikian Pecalang Bali, they unite their attitudes," he said during the declaration at Niti Mandala Renon Square, Denpasar.

He emphasized that Bali does not need mass organizations under the guise of wanting to protect Bali because pecalang has become at the forefront of maintaining Balinese customs, culture, traditions, and local wisdom.

"Pecalang Bali since the ancestors had looked after Bali, nindohin gumi Bali, pecalang Bali rejects criminalism, thuggery and anarchist attitudes committed by thugs in mass organizations and under the guise of mass organizations," he said.

In the declaration, there were three main points conveyed, namely rejecting the presence of mass organizations under the guise of maintaining security, order and social security with acts of thuggery, acts of violence and intimidation of the community, causing unrest and tension in the Balinese community.

Pecalang agreed to support the TNI and Polri in organizing security and order in Bali. As well as the third point, take firm action against mass organizations that commit acts of thuggery and criminalization that disturb the public.

Pelarian Utama Pasikian Pecalang Bali Ngurah Pradnyana added that the declaration of tens of thousands of pecalang from 1,500 traditional villages throughout Bali Province at Niti Mandala Renon Square, Denpasar, was prepared very briefly for only three days.

This activity is a response to the phenomenon of the presence of mass organizations on the Island of the Gods which has made pecalangs in traditional villages flock to make videos of rejection, but it is dangerous if they become biased and not directly facilitated.

"They are very enthusiastic, very enthusiastic because what their aspirations are below, what is conveyed in our social media has accommodated their aspirations, we invite them here to convey their attitude," said Ngurah Pradnyana.

Pasikian Pecalang Bali also hopes that their sincerity in protecting the Island of the Gods has been appreciated by the Bali Provincial Government in the form of incentives.

This aspiration was welcomed by the Bali MDA and assessed that the welfare of Bali pecalang also needed attention, considering that apart from maintaining traditional villages, pecalangs were involved in maintaining national and international activities on the Island of the Gods.
