JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) affirms the Indonesian government's commitment to creating a conducive and sustainable business climate, including for investors from South Korea.

The statement was made by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Wamenlu) of the Republic of Indonesia, Arrmanatha Nasir, during a meeting with South Korean Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hong Kyun in Jakarta on May 14, 2025.

Meanwhile, South Korea's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hong Kyun emphasized the sustainability of South Korea's commitment to strengthening a Special Strategic Partnership with Indonesia.

"Indonesia is an important partner of South Korea, and believes that the administration of the new South Korean government will remain committed to strengthening partnerships with Indonesia," said Deputy Foreign Minister Kim.

It is known that South Korea is preparing for the presidential general election which will be held on June 3, 2025.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kim also expressed South Korea's hope for the participation of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in the APEC Summit series which will be held in Gyeongju in October 2025.

Indonesia also stated that it is ready to support the chairmanship of South Korea in APEC and collaborate to reach an agreement that has a positive impact on the global economy.

In addition, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim said South Korea is ready to increase cooperation with Indonesia in the field of human resource development, including through capacity building programs, scholarship programs, and vocational training.

At the end of the meeting, the two Deputy Foreign Ministers agreed on a commitment to follow up on strengthening bilateral cooperation, including coordination and mutual support in various multilateral forums.
