The Mandonga Sector Police (Polsek), Southeast Sulawesi, conducted an examination of six witnesses related to the fire case that caused four toddlers to become victims, in Punggolaka Village, Puuwatu District, Kendari City.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mandonga Police, Iptu Andry Irwanto, said the six witnesses, including the lover of the victim's mother (selebgram) with the initials A, neighbors, and the victim's family.

"Currently, we have examined 6 witnesses at the scene, including the victim's parents, the victim's mother's male friend, from elements of the local government from the RT, and from the victim's own brother," said Andry Irwanto as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 14.

The police are also still waiting for the results of the forensic laboratory examination (labfor) of the South Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda), before they will conduct a case title.

Andry Irwanto explained that if there is a criminal element later, the handling of the case will be raised to the investigation stage. During the examination, the Mandonga Police also coordinated with the Women and Children Protection Service, as well as criminal experts.

"When it comes to the element of negligence, we are currently still examining the witnesses whether elements (of negligence) will be fulfilled, and the results of the laboratory will be answered," he said.

He explained that the witness examination was very important, because the testimony of the witness who would present the article would be suspected to the suspect, if there was a criminal element in the case.
