JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto visited the funeral home of former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta as well as former Chairman of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI), Major General TNI (Ret.) Eddie Marzuki Nalapraya.
Wearing brown and coffee-style safari clothes, the Head of State arrives at the funeral home at the Pencak Silat Padepokan, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta, Tuesday, May 13 at 15.45 WIB.
Arriving at the pavilion, the President was greeted by his family and a number of members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariyotedjo on the stairs of the parking lot to the burial place.
Major General TNI (Ret.) Eddie Marzuki Nalapraya, former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta (1982'1987) and pencak silat, died at the age of 93 on Tuesday at RSPI Pondok Indah.
The body was buried in the Pencak Silat TMII Padepokan before being buried at the Kalibata TMP.
Known as "Mr. Pencak Silat Dunia", Eddie contributed to lifting pencak silat to international levels, including through the 1st International Invitation of Pencak Silat which later became the Pencak Silat World Championship in 1987.
He also served as General Chair of IPSI before being replaced by Prabowo Subianto.
