Former Deputy Governor Of DKI And Father Of Pencak Silat Eddie Nalapraya Passed Away At The Age Of 93

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of DKI Jakarta in 1984-1987 Major General TNI (Ret.) Eddie Marzuki Nalapraya passed away today at the age of 93 years.

Eddie Nalapraya died at Pondok Indah Hospital at 09.50 WIB. The Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Governor of Jakarta for Public Communication, Cyril Total Hakim (Chico Hakim) confirmed the sad news.

Eddie Nalapraya will be buried at the Padepokan Pencak Silat Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, East Jakarta, at 13.00 WIB. Reportedly, the Governors of DKI Jakarta will pay their respects to the funeral home.

"That's right (the sad news). I haven't received any information on when Mas Pram and Bang Doel will pay their respects," Chico said in a short message, Tuesday, May 13.

Eddie, who is also the General Chair of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association since 1981 until now, will be buried in the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, South Jakarta.

During his lifetime, this Betawi figure who was born in Jakarta, June 6, 1931, was known as the Father of the World Pencak Silat based on his large contribution to the original Indonesian martial arts sport.

Eddie Nalapraya also received a number of services from within and outside the country. Starting from the Satyalancana of the War of Independence, Satyalancana of Enforcement, Satyalancana of Loyalty, SKnight Grand Cross of the Order of Orange-Nassau, Commander of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand, to Bintang Mahaputera Pratama.
