JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) targets the collection of sacrificial animals equivalent to sheep or goats as many as 7,000 heads in the implementation of the Baznas Blessings Program in Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri/2025 AD.

"God willing, this year, specifically for the collection of sacrificial animals for the Central Baznas targeting 7,000 heads equivalent to sheep / goats, with details of 4,291 sheep / goats, 312 cows, and 75 cows to be processed into canned products," said Chairman of the Indonesian National Baznas Noor Achmad in a statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 10.

Noor explained that the total animal value reached around Rp. 21 billion with the assumption that the average price of sheep/kambing was Rp. 3 million per head.

"This is not just a number, but an effort by Baznas to expand the benefits of sacrifice for the people. The sacrificial meat will later be distributed to remote parts of Indonesia, including to Palestine, to help residents affected by the humanitarian crisis," he continued.

Noor explained that the target of 7,000 sheep/kambings is an accumulation of needs calculated based on the results of the evaluation of the distributions of the previous year, coupled with increased community participation and potential distribution this year.

In order to realize this, he continued, his party prepared a strategy to strengthen distribution channels, use digital technology in convenience for prospective mudhohi to perform sacrificial worship, as well as cross-sectoral collaboration, including with strategic partners and local breeders assisted by Baznas.

"The source of the sacrificial animals will come from two suppliers, namely the general market and the Baznas Livestock Center. This year, as many as 3,250 sheep/kambing will be provided by 54 Baznas livestock centers spread throughout Indonesia, while the rest will be filled from the public market," he explained.

Noor also explained that Baznas fostered breeders who are members of the Baznas Livestock Center program are also involved in this, which also has an economic impact on mustahik.

Meanwhile, regarding the distribution of sacrificial animals, he explained, it will be focused on priority areas where the distribution of sacrificial animals has been minimal.

"The distribution of sacrificial animals will be focused on areas with extreme poverty levels, institutions, foundations, orphanages, pre-sesejahtera Islamic boarding schools, disaster-affected areas, areas with stunting cases, and other areas facing humanitarian issues," he explained.

By raising the theme 'Light for Mudhohi (sacrators) and Mustahik', Noor hopes that the 2025 Baznas Blessings Program can be a light of goodness, both for the sacrificers and beneficiaries.

"Baznas invites all Indonesian people, especially prospective mudhohi to perform the sacrificial service through Baznas, to sacrifice the best according to sharia and entirely for the benefit of the people," said Noor Achmad.
