Sindikat Curanmor Kerap Beraksi Di Mimika Papua Tengah Ditangkap, 21 Kendaraan Disita

CENTRAL PAPUA - Police uncovered a motor vehicle theft syndicate (curanmor) which has been operating in Mimika, Central Papua. In this activity, the police secured 21 units of stolen evidence.

Mimika Police Chief AKBP Billyandha Hilde 23, Budiman said, from this case there were 21 police reports and from the report four perpetrators, namely the initials GLM, JRL, MM alias U and MM alias E, have been arrested in three different locations.

"In addition to the four perpetrators detained, we also secured six collectors, namely RNJ, GT, SH, LRH, RDS and WBK," he said in Timika, Central Papua, Friday, May 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Budiman, the perpetrator JRL was arrested on April 13, 2025 at his residence on Jalan Patimura and GLM was arrested at an inn on Jalan Cenderawasih, both of whom were arrested on April 13, 2025.

"Meanwhile, MM alias U and MM alias E, who are father and son, were arrested on April 14, 2025 on Hasanuddin Street, precisely in Pepaya Alley," he said.

He explained that the perpetrators had started their actions from 2024 to 2025 and based on information from the perpetrators, the stolen vehicle was sold at prices ranging from Rp. 1 million to Rp. 1.5 million.

"They market the stolen goods according to orders then of these four perpetrators, GLM is a recidivist," he said again.

He added that apart from the 21 units that have been secured by the Mimika Police, there are still 10 stolen motorized vehicles sent by the perpetrators to the Tanimbar Islands, Maluku Province, so his party continues to carry out investigations.

For the actions of the perpetrators, Article 363 of the Criminal Code is subject to a nine-year prison sentence while the detainee is subject to Article 480 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of four years in prison.
