JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government will again carry out land acquisition for the Ciliwung River normalization project. The plan is that around 67 hectares of land in Cawang Village and Cililitan Village, Kramat Jati District will be acquired.
This is stated in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 344 of 2025 which was signed by the Governor of DKI Pramono Anung on April 25, 2025.
"Determining, the Governor's Decree on Determination of Development Locations for Normalization of Ciliwung River in Cawang Village and Cililitan Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta Administrative City," Pramono wrote in the governor's decree quoted Monday, May 5.
The determination of the location (penlok) of a land area of 67,270 square meters is valid for 3 years. If land acquisition has not been carried out during this period, the DKI Provincial Government must update the penlok.
The cost of land acquisition will be borne by the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) through the Budget Implementation Document (DPA) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Water Resources Service.
On a separate occasion, Pramono admitted that the eviction could not be avoided so that the land acquisition process could be carried out and continued with the construction of the Ciliwung normalized embankment.
However, Pramono emphasized that the implementation of land acquisition in the normalization project during his tenure will prioritize an approach to the community.
"We will of course take a serious approach to the community. Because it is impossible not to move it," said Pramono.
"We will sit down together, the principle is not then to carry out evictions, but whatever this is for the public interest," he added.
For information, the government targets the normalization of Ciliwung to be carried out along 33.69 kilometers. As of April 2025, the embankment has been built along 17.17 kilometers. So that the remaining 16.52 kilometers of rivers with unsecured land and embankments are built.
