JAKARTA - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Friday (2/5) condemned Israel's continuing attack on Syrian territory, which he called a violation of the country's sovereignty.
At a press conference, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric conveyed Guterresprihatin with increasing tensions in several areas in Damascus, and condemned all forms of violence against civilians.
"The Secretary General of the United Nations also condemned Israel's violation of Syria's sovereignty, including the latest airstrikes that occurred near the presidential palace in Damascus," Dujarric said.
Israel must stop those attacks and "respect Syria's sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and independence," he added.
