Police Hunt For Mother And Child Killers In Rejang Lebong Bengkulu

BENGKULU - Mother and child were found dead in a rented house located at Kesambe Baru Village, East Curup District, Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu.

Head of Public Relations of the Rejang Lebong Police, AKP Sinar Simanjuntak, said the two residents of Rejang Lebong were found full of wounds and rotting.

"Currently, personnel from the Rejang Lebong Police Satreskrim are pursuing the alleged perpetrator, who is suspected of being her own husband. These two victims were found dead and injured. The mother was found on the sofa, while her child was in the room," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 2.

He explained that the two victims of this murder were Euis Setia (42), and his daughter with the initials GMW (14). Meanwhile, the alleged perpetrator was the victim's husband with the initials G.

"It is suspected that the victim died as a result of violence by the victim's husband. From information from neighbors around the victim's house, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at around 06.30 WIB, there was a commotion between the victim Euis and her husband. And after the commotion, the victim's neighbors saw the victim's husband leave by locking the door of the house," he explained.

The discovery of the bodies of the two victims, he said, began with the suspicion of a neighbor who saw many flies around the victim's bed. Feeling something was wrong, the witness then approached and broke down the door with it.

After the door opened, the witness saw that the victim Euis was lifeless on the sofa and his body had emitted an unpleasant odor, then the victim GMW was also found dead with tragic condition in his room.

The residents immediately reported this murder case to RT officers and sub-districts as well as the local police. The Rejang Lebong Police officers who arrived at the scene immediately conducted a crime scene investigation, examined witnesses around the victim's house to find out what happened and evacuated the victim's body to the Rejang Lebong Hospital.
