JAKARTA - The attack by a Russian drone on Thursday night burned down buildings in the city of Zaporizhia, southeastern Ukraine, injuring 29 people, including a child, said regional governor Ivan Fedorov.

He said Russian troops had launched at least 10 attacks on the city, destroying private homes, dozens of high-level apartment buildings, educational institutions, and infrastructure locations.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's air force said it had shot down 64 of the 150 drone launched by Russia overnight.

As many as 62 other unmanned aircraft did not reach the target, possibly because they were intercepted by electronic warfare devices, he said as reported by Reuters on May 2.

It was not stated what happened to the remaining 24 unmanned aircraft.

Images posted online showed a building on fire and rescue teams walking through the rubble and climbing the side of the damaged building with a long ladder. One image shows the rescue team carrying a injured man to safety.

Separately, Ukraine's state-owned rail company, Ukrzaliznytsia, said the attack on Zaporizhia also damaged its locomotive repair plant, a company specializing in repairing passenger electric locomotives.

The plant will no longer be able to operate due to significant damage, Fedorov said in a televised statement.
