KULONPROGO In an effort to support national food security, the Head of Pura Pakualaman collaborated with Kora Agri and Directive One to develop his land on the coast of Kalurahan Pilihan and Sindutan, Kapanewon Temon, Kulonprogo Regency, to become a modern agricultural area based on high technology.
This project carries the concept of precision agriculture with a variety of innovations, such as sandy soil processing mechanization, humidity-based precision irrigation system, automatic land monitoring for real-time plant growth analysis, as well as the use of superior corn varieties that are resistant to salinity and coastal conditions.
"We are integrating advanced technology in agriculture to answer environmental challenges in the coastal area," said President Director of PT Direktif Utama Indonesia, Taofiq Hidayah, in a socialization held at RM Joglo Saerah, Palihan, Temon, Wednesday, April 30.
10 Hectare Land Ready To Be Worked On
The total development area reached 103,570 square meters consisting of three certified plots of land: SHM No. 02594 (27,240 m2), SHM No. 02595 (35,490 m2), and SHM No. 02917 (40,840 m2).
Kora Agri will handle agricultural technical management, ranging from providing land processing technology, irrigation systems, to drone-based productivity monitoring. While Directive One acts as project manager and business development that regulates program planning, coordination, and sustainability.
"We are not only focused on increasing production, but also maintaining the balance of coastal ecosystems. Part of the land remains a zone for shrimp cypress conservation as a natural protector of coastal abrasion," added Taofiq.

Involve Local Communities
This project also aims to empower the community around the coast with direct involvement in corn planting and other agricultural activities. This is expected to increase income and family welfare in the region.
"This initiative is also a form of mutual cooperation between the Kadipaten, the community, and other stakeholders in building the economy of the Kulonprogo people," explained Taofiq.
Sustainable Development Commitment
According to KMT Pangarsowijoyo from the Panitikismo Affairs of Pakualaman Kadipaten, this development is part of the Kadipaten's long-term commitment to supporting sustainable agriculture in the DIY region.
"Kadipaten's land is spread across four Kulonprogo coastal villages: Wates, Climbing, Galur, and Temon," he said.
Responding to the issue of a warning letter to PT Direkif Utama Indonesia, he emphasized that the document was internal and had never been officially sent.
"Sri Determination of KGPAA Pakualam X has provided palilah (use permit) to PT Direktif Utama Indonesia on condition that activities are carried out for useful plants, not building buildings, and must involve local residents," he said.
With the total land of the Pakualaman Kadipaten which reaches around 2,000 hectares, this effort is expected to be a model of collaboration between culture, technology, and community empowerment in facing the challenges of future food security.
