BTN Prepares Financing 30,000 Subsidized Houses For Health Workers

JAKARTA - BTN has become a channeling bank that participates in distributing decent and affordable houses, together with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and the People's Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) in the Home Program for Indonesian Health Workers.

This subsidized housing program was launched simultaneously on Monday, April 28 in eight provinces, namely Central Java, Aceh, North Sumatra, West Java, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, and Papua. The total houses distributed are 30,000 units of collaboration between the PKP and the Ministry of Health to support the health worker welfare program.

"This program is extraordinary. This is part of the 30,000 houses that are allocated specifically from the three million houses targeted by the government. I am sure later the numbers can increase for health workers," said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin in a release received by VOI editorial staff, Wednesday, April 30.

PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait appreciated the cooperation of various institutions, namely the Ministry of PKP, Ministry of SOEs, Ministry of Health, BTN, BP Tapera, and Central Java Province and Kendal Regency.

"The subsidized mortgage program is for 220,000 housing units, the funds already exist from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). The Minister of Health knows, thanks to the support of the President, DPR, Minister of Finance, SOEs and everything, hopefully we will get additional funds. Don't let the housing quantity increase but the quality will decrease," said Maruarar Sirait, Minister of PKP.

According to the Director of Consumer BTN Hirwandi Gafar, BTN's commitment to distribute subsidized housing to health workers, midwives and nurses.

"Of course, in this case BTN and BP Tapera together with the Ministry of PKP in collaboration with BPS, which points we will provide according to the criteria of Low-Income Communities (MBR)," said BTN Consumer Director Hirwandi Gafar.

During January to April 28, 2025, BTN has distributed 1,327 subsidized mortgages for health workers throughout Indonesia. Over the past five years, BTN has distributed 22,311 subsidized mortgages for health workers.
