Thousands Of Port Workers Depart To Monas And DPR Building

JAKARTA - Around 3000 workers from Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta departed using motorized vehicles to the National Monument (Monas) and the DPR building to participate in commemorating International Labor Day (May Day) 2025.

"Alhamdulillah, departing safely and orderly, around 3,000 workers use two wheels," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ahmad Fuady as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 1.

The workers gathered in front of the Kwik Kian Gie Institute of Business and Informatics (IBIKKG) Jalan Yos Sudarso, Sunter Jaya, North Jakarta.

There are around 1,065 joint personnel deployed this Thursday to maintain the smooth running of action around North Jakarta.

Joint personnel are placed at points that are indeed gathering places or are traversed by workers when they want to go to Monas and the DPR.

"The placement of personnel is focused on gathering points for fellow workers who will go to Monas and the Indonesian Parliament, as well as intersection points that will be passed by fellow workers," he said.

His party has prepared members to maintain the safety of workers who really want to hold demonstrations around North Jakarta.

He hopes that with good security, the workers can convey their aspirations smoothly and safely.

"We also anticipate if there are fellow workers who wish to express their aspirations in North Jakarta," he said.
