Mataram Police Name Corruption Suspects Of COVID-19 Masks

The Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, has named a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of COVID-19 masks at the NTB Cooperatives and MSMEs Office for the 2020 fiscal year.

Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim AKP Regi Halili explained that his party is now following up on the determination by scheduling the examination of the suspect.

"Yes, there has been a determination and we will immediately summon (the examination)," said Regi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 30.

Regarding the number and identity of the suspects, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit did not provide an explanation.

Likewise, the role of the previously mentioned suspects amounted to six people from among regional officials.

"Later on then," he said.

In March 2025, Regi mentioned that there were six potential suspects along with the initials of this case, namely WK, K, CT, MH, RA, and DV.

Of the six initials mentioned, there were former Deputy Regent of Sumbawa and former Head of the NTB Cooperatives and MSMEs Service.

The two former officials were also noted to have undergone examination as witnesses in this case.

The 2020 COVID-19 mask procurement budget comes from Unexpected Expenditures (BTT) of Diskop and NTB MSMEs.

The government carried out this procurement by cooperating with more than a hundred MSME actors. Procurement takes place in three stages.
