Prabowo Still Studying Hasan Nasbi's Request To Withdraw From PCO

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said that until now President Prabowo Subianto has not made an official decision regarding the resignation of the Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, which means that it is still in process or being studied.

Prasetyo said the President had received a report regarding the resignation request, but was still studying it deeply before making further decisions.

"With regard to the request for the resignation of Mr. Hasan, we have reported the President and he wants to study it first. So it has not yet reached the signed stage, let alone to the stage of looking for a replacement," said Prasetyo as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 29.

Hasan Nasbi submitted his resignation from his position as Head of PCO. Hasan conveyed the decision through a video upload that lasted more than four minutes on his Instagram account @totalpolitikcom on Tuesday.

In the video, Hasan mentions that Monday (21/4) is his last day serving as PCO leader.

"Friends, Monday, April 21, 2025, is the last day I will undergo activities at the Presidential Communication Office. That's why that day was immortalized," Hasan said in the video.

Hasan explained that his resignation was based on a mature personal evaluation. He felt that if there were problems that could no longer be overcome and were beyond his capacity, it would be better to pull over in a calm manner and provide space for other more appropriate figures.

"My conclusion is very mature that it is time to pull out of the field and sit in an audience chair. Give a better figure the opportunity to replace his playing position on the field," he said.

He also emphasized that the decision was not taken suddenly or emotionally, but was the best way to improve future government communication.

Hasan sent his resignation letter to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto through Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Hasan Nasbi was previously appointed as Head of PCO by President Prabowo Subianto on October 21, 2024, after previously being inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on August 19, 2024 through Presidential Decree No. 82 of 2024 concerning the Presidential Communication Office.

This institution was formed to realize the effectiveness of the President's strategic communication in a synergistic and integrated manner.

Until now, there has been no name named as a candidate to replace Hasan Nasbi. The government will deliver further developments after the President completes his study of the resignation.
