Motor Vehicle Tax Arrears Become A Target For The Follow-up Of The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government

JAKART A- The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, emphasized that the provincial government will not provide bleaching for motor vehicle taxes. He stated that his party will focus on pursuing tax arrears who have enjoyed facilities provided by the state without fulfilling their obligations.

"Have you received the facility, have you received the convenience, do you not want to pay taxes?" said Pramono while attending the DKI Jakarta PWNU Halal Bihalal on Sunday, in Jakarta.

According to Pramono, the government's task is to provide assistance to people who really need it, such as bleaching diplomas for the less fortunate, not for those who own motorized vehicles but do not pay taxes.

He explained that most of the tax arrears of motorized vehicles are owners of more than one vehicle, such as the second or third car, which should not be eligible for tax breaks.

Pramono added that his party would firmly pursue motor vehicle tax evaders. Apart from being unable to fulfill their obligations, they have also enjoyed various facilities provided by the government.

"For those who own a car but don't want to pay taxes, I won't give them bleaching. I will continue to chase them," he said.

The Governor of DKI Jakarta also emphasized that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will always prioritize the interests of people who really need it, especially the poor, given the considerable social inequality between the rich and the poor in Jakarta.

Pramono revealed that one of the focuses of his government is to help small communities with policies such as bleaching diplomas, eliminating Land and Building Taxes (PBB) for houses with Tax Object Selling Values (NJOP) below IDR 2 billion, as well as apartments at a price below IDR 650 million.

"In Jakarta, I prioritize those who need convenience, especially the underprivileged," he said.
