JAKARTA - Joint officers from the Central Jakarta Metro Police and Gambir Metro Police finally arrested a man named Haerul Umam alias HU (29) in the Tanah Abang Station area, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

Haerul sexually harassed the victim with the initials RD (29) who was a Commuter Line train passenger.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Muhammad Firdaus, said the incident took place when the victim boarded the Commuter Line train to Parung Panjang - Tanah Abang.

At that time, the victim and perpetrator boarded the same Commuter Line.

"At that time, the suspect saw the victim wearing tight clothes and had a good posture. So that the suspect's sexual desire increased and the suspect did onani," said AKBP Firdaus to reporters, Wednesday, March 16, 2025.

The 'crazy' action of Haerul's perpetrator carried out disorder to expel sperm into the victim's body. The perpetrator carried out the depraved act consciously and the carriage situation was filled with passengers.

For this incident, the victim reported the incident to the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

"From the results of the examination process, the suspect admitted his actions, and the motive of the suspect for committing the crime was because his sexual desire increased because he saw the victim wearing tight clothes and had a good posture. So that's the motive," he said.

The perpetrator admitted that he had only committed his depraved acts on the Commuter Line train. For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 5 of Law No. 12 of 2022 concerning the crime of sexual violence junto article 281 of the Criminal Code. The perpetrator is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of 2 years.
